TJ Roemmich, a 2006 Dowling Catholic graduate, won the Lanny Peterson Award
which is given to the top player/academic student in the state of Iowa. The IHSBCA
Steering Committee made up of past presidents selects the winner. Lanny Peterson
is a member of the IHSBCA and former educator at Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Linn
Mar High Schools who had a distinguished career as an umpire and educator.
TJ graduated 18th in his class with a GPA of 4.015.On the field, TJ was named
by coaches and writers in the state of Iowa to all state teams including two years
First Team INA and two years IHSBCA first team. TJ was named to the Super Team
his senior year as well as the BCA seven state First Team. Roemmich is attending
Creighton University on a baseball scholarship and plans to major in business.
The award was presented at the IHSBCA All Star Series in Clinton August 5th
