Conlon Signs with Iowa Central

On Wednesday, April 25th Dowling Catholic Senior Shortstop/Pitcher Alex Conlon signed with Iowa Junior College power Iowa Central. Alex, the son of Pat and Peg Conlon will join the Tritons next fall as an infielder/Pitcher. Iowa Central, coached by Rick Pederson, has qualified for the NJCAA World SeriesSeven times since 1996. Conlon hit .413 for the Maroons last year, earning a South Central Second Team All District Award as a utility player. "We're very happy for Alex and congratulate him on finding an excellent place to pursue baseball in college. He has a real passion and love for the game of baseball. His best years are ahead of him!" said Coach Tim O'Neill.
